We only collect the contact details we need to quote, invoice and keep in touch with you. Here's exactly how we handle them.
Last updated: 30 October 2026
1. Who we are
Viking Pest Control is a trading name of [Legal company name] (CRO [CRO number]), [Registered business address]. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to info@vikingpestcontrol.ie or by phoning 01 969 7890.
2. What information we collect
We collect contact information only:
- your name and, for business customers, your company name;
- your phone number and email address;
- the address of the property we service, and a billing address if different.
We collect this when you call, email or message us (including by WhatsApp), request a quote or book a service. We do not collect special category data such as health information, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
3. How we use it and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR Article 6) |
|---|---|
| Quoting, booking and carrying out the work you ask for | Performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering into one |
| Issuing invoices, taking payment and keeping accounting records | Performance of a contract and compliance with our legal obligations under Irish tax law |
| Sending you service reminders, seasonal pest prevention tips and offers by email, SMS or phone | Your consent, or for existing customers our legitimate interest in marketing similar services, as permitted by the ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. No. 336 of 2011) |
4. Marketing and how to opt out
We only send marketing about our own pest control services. Every marketing email or SMS includes a simple way to opt out, and you can also opt out at any time by contacting us. Opting out does not affect the service you have booked or any invoices we need to send you.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We only share it with:
- service providers who help us run the business, such as our accounting, invoicing, email and phone providers, who act on our instructions under a data processing agreement;
- our accountants and professional advisers;
- Revenue or other authorities where the law requires it.
If any of these providers transfer data outside the European Economic Area, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as an EU adequacy decision or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Invoices and accounting records: six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as required by Irish tax law.
- Marketing: until you opt out or withdraw consent. After that we keep only what we need to make sure we don't contact you again.
- Enquiries that don't lead to a booking: up to 36 months.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased where we no longer have a lawful reason to keep it;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including an absolute right to object to direct marketing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, contact us at info@vikingpestcontrol.ie. We will respond within one month and there is no charge.
8. This website
This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies, and the area checker on our homepage does not store what you enter. We remember that you have accepted our privacy notice using your browser's local storage, so we don't show it again. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and our customer reviews section is provided by Featurable, which loads content from Google. Both may receive your IP address when a page is displayed.
9. Keeping your data safe
We store your data with reputable providers, limit access to staff who need it, and use password protection and encryption where available.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, or online at dataprotection.ie.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
